All About Sweet Corn

All About Sweet Corn

Comment: Gabriella, there are several different ways to freeze corn. Of course, everyone thinks their way is best. We have several recipes that will give you an alternative to what we show in our article. Here are the addresses for those recipes: http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/t--5549/freezing-corn.asp, http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/t--5551/sweet-corn.asp, http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/t--121294/best-frozen-corn.asp, and http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/t--160824/frozen-sweet-corn-not-precooked.asp. The last recipe is the one I use personally. We have been freezing corn with this recipe for years and we love it. We like the fact that you don't have to cook the corn when you are freezing it. You will have to take a look at these options and see which you feel will work best for you. Good luck!

Comment: After receiving several comments on our pork cooking temperatures being too high to produce moist and tender pork, I did some research on the current cooking temperatures recommended by the USDA and the Pork Producers. I found that they had lowered the recommended temperatures so I have made the necessary changes to our cooking charts and other pork cooking information to reflect the new recommendations. Thanks Webmaster for bringing this to our attention!

Comment: To CookingMatters, you will need to place an oven thermometer in the oven and turn it on to the desired temperature. Let the oven preheat with the thermometer in it. Once it is preheated, check the thermometer. If it is not at the same degrees as you set the oven for, your oven is not calibrated correctly. See your owner's manual on how to adjust it or call a service rep to come in and make the adjustment.

Go to http://www.recipetips.com/kitchen-tips/t--1226/how-to-make-stuffing.asp and you will find some great information on making stuffing. It will show how to test the dressing and what to do if it isn't done but your turkey is at its proper temperature.
