"I think the ingredients are alittle off too. Like all recipes, I follow recipes like this loosely and follow my taste (pinch here a pinch there). I ended up with what my husband called "the best of both worlds", an awesome chunk of meat paired with his favorite condiment horseradish."
"Yummy cheesecake! I wanted to try these to see how they turned out before making them for the 4th of July. I made them Wednesday and they are already gone so everyone must have liked them. They will be great for the 4th. Just a note, I did have to bake them for about 50 minutes to get center to firm up."
"I made these to go with the Strawberry Apple Fruit Salsa and they were delicious. They were perfect with the salsa but we all liked them just on their own also. Reminded us of cinnamon and sugar pie crust. I thought they were going to be a pain to make but they weren't too bad. They fried up pretty quickly. I will have to make them as a special treat again."
"This salsa was really tasty and something different for a change. My grandkids love fruit so they thought it was great. I also made the Cinnamon and Sugar Tortilla Chips to go with it. We all loved the salsa except my husband . . . he thinks salsa needs to be hot and spicy!"
"These were fun to make. They were easier to make than I thought and the grandkids really got a kick out of them. I only made half a batch though. Making a full batch may have gotten a little much."
"Some of my family really liked these cookies but I just thought they were ok. I was hoping for a little more lemony flavor but others liked that they just had a hint of lemon flavor to them."
"I usually make a cherry slush for the holidays and we really like that but I personally liked this one better because it wasn't quite so sweet. I only rated it 4 stars because a few of the others liked the sweeter slush a little better."
"This is a great throw together salad that takes little effort but makes a great side to any meal. I let everyone add their own salad dressing so then I could make it up ahead of time and the lettuce didn't get soggy. The salad toppins added a nice crunch and a little extra flavor."
"Like a lot of banana bread recipes, it was hard to get the middle done enough without the edges getting too brown. The bread still tasted good and I like the idea of using applesauce instead of butter or shortening."
"Easy way to cook pork chops. They weren't all dried out either. The rice was really flavorful. The rice could have been cooked long because it was not completely tender but next time I will add it in for the last 3 hours instead of the last 2 hours."
"Made this to go with the Beef Tips Stroganoff. It was super simple and I loved it. The cottage cheese did cut the sweetness a little and made it just right."
"I had never made any type of stroganoff before but I was looking for a recipe to use up some of our round steak. I tried this one because I could cook in the slow cooker. It turned out great. We had it over buttered noodles but it would be delicious with mashed potatoes. I will definitely use this recipe again."
"I loved the glaze on this ham. Wish I would have make extra for serving. I left the cloves off because we are not big fans of the flavor they give to ham."
"I made this brittle as indicated by the recipe except I used dry roasted peanuts and added them after the brittle was at 300 degrees F. I thought it turned out pretty good and I can't keep my family out of it so it must be OK."
"This is an easy throw together salad that would go perfect with any type of meal. We had it with steaks and it was the only side dish we had, which made for a great light dinner. I liked the mixture of the two lettuces."
"The squash had just a hint of maple and cinnamon flavor to it but it was just enough. It still let the flavor of the squash dominate the taste. It was a nice change from just plain baked squash."
"This apple bread was so delicious. It is a very heavy dense bread with great flavor. The apples and pecans are great together and the glaze just adds a perfect finishing touch. You just have to try it!"
"I am always reluctant to try a different meatloaf recipe. We all like my recipe for meat loaf but I wanted to try something different. I am glad I did. Everyone liked it as much as my own recipe. Guess we will have to switch back and forth with this recipe."
"This was a different way of fixing vegetables from what we are used to. We thought it was very good. The fried onions gave it great flavor and a little crunch. This was a simple dish to make up also."
"My family isn't much on lamb but they love a sauce for dipping chicken. I tried this for something different and they must have liked it because most of it was gone. I thought it was good but I don't usually dip my chicken in anything."
"Savory, glad you tried the slow cooker method. This is the only way I fix a roast anymore because they come out so much more tender than roasting in the oven."
"I made some adjustments to this recipe and it turned out pretty good. I browned the roast & placed it in a slow cooker. Poured the excess oil out of the pan, added the broth and heated just enough to loosen the browned bits in the pan. Poured that over the roast, placed cover on slow cooker, and cooked for 6 hours on low. Strained the juices and served with the roast. I used a regular seasoning salt instead of the barbecue seasoning powder."
"I make these often because my daughter-in-laws love them and they are so easy to make. They are always looking for something healthy and low calorie."
"Very good, especially the crispy edges on some of them. Next time I will fry just a little longer so there are more crisp ones. These made a nice side dish with grilled hamburgers."
"I made this glazed ham recipe for Easter and we really liked the flavor it gave the ham. I was glad I doubled the glaze recipe and kept half of it to serve with the ham."
"We are trying to watch our calories a little but love sweets so when I found this recipe I had to try it. It was great! The cake was so moist and I loved the frosting. I don't care for sugary frostings so this was perfect."
"We love to have bread with our meals but I never want to go through all the work of making yeast bread so a recipe like this is perfect for us. These were really easy and so tasty!"
"OMG! My mother use to make these all the time for us as kids and then she would make them for my kids. My kids and their friends still talk about how they were one of their favorite cookies. I will have to make them for my grandkids. They would be easy to make for a quick treat. I had just kind of forgotten about them until I saw this recipe. Thanks for adding it to the site!"
"I threw this beef stew together the night before and plugged it in just before I went to work. It smelled so good when I came home. I did have to thicken the gravy a little, otherwise it was very good. It made a nice size batch so we will have leftovers to enjoy too."
"Great pot pie recipe. This year I had a lot of turkey leftover. I had seen this recipe before Thanksgiving so thought I would try it. I did change it a bit. I don't like mushrooms so I used a cup of peas and a cup of diced potatoes instead of the 2 cups of mushrooms. It turned out so good. I will definitely make it again."
"I made these the other night because my granddaughter was going to be here and she loves deviled eggs and black olives. She thought they looked too gross to eat at first but I finally talked her into trying them. Then she ate 4 or 5 of them. The other kids just looked at me like I was crazy. Couldn't talk them into trying them."
"I love this site for the "old home" comfort food recipes. This one definately reminds me of home. They sell apple butter in high-end niche stores now....great gift idea."
"I made this recipe for a get-together at my house tomorrow. I baked it like the directions say but I am going to slice it and put it in the crock pot for my company tomorrow. I really liked the glaze, reminded me of what my mom would make."
