Lemon Loaves 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice (fresh)
Directions
Mix first three ingredients. Press into a 9x9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Sift sugar, flour and baking powder together. Beat eggs with lemon juice. Then combine with flour mixture and pour on partially baked crust.

Bake at 350 degrees for another 25 minutes.

Remove from oven, cool, and frost with powdered sugar creamed with butter and enough lemon juice to make a spreading consistency.
