Soft with a touch of cinnamony flavor. These light cake-like cookies are made with a little cinnamon in the dough and then sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar for great flavor.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups sour milk (add 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar to 1 1/2 cups of regular milk)
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, and vanilla together. Gradually add dry ingredients, along with sour milk. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Mix 2 T. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Sprinkle on each cookie. Bake at 350° for 10 to 15 min. Makes 5 dozen.

"This cookie was a little different from what I usually make. They were soft with a slight cinnamon flavor. Didn't know if the grandkids would like them but when everyone was here this weekend we ate up the whole batch!"
