Classic Pecan Pie Bars Recipe

Ingredients
CRUST:
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans
FILLING:
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
4 eggs
6 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans

CRUST:
Heat oven to 350ºF. Combine the flour, butter, and sugar in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the pecans.
Press crust mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 9- x 13-inch baking pan. Bake 18 - 22 minutes or until edges are very light golden brown.
FILLING:
In a small bowl, combine all the filling ingredients (except the pecans); mix well.
Stir in the pecans. Spread evenly over the hot partially baked crust.
Bake again at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes or until the filling is set and a knife inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
Cool; then cut into bars. Yield: 48 bars.
