Champagne Sangria Recipe

A variation of a mimosa that will make your brunch a very special occasion. The mint adds the perfect touch to this cocktail. Make the simple syrup up to 2 weeks in advance.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • 1 champagne - bottle
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 lemon - zested, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime - zested, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries - sliced
  • mint leaves - for garnish

  • For the simple syrup, combine the sugar, water, and mint in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool for 20 minutes. Strain before using.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the champagne, orange juice, 1 cup of simple syrup, lemon and lime zest. Add the sliced strawberries and citrus slices.
  • Fill glasses with crushed ice and pour the cocktail over the top. Garnish with mint leaves. Serve immediately.
