Mandarin Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup frozen orange concentrate
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup mandarin oranges, well drained
  • 1/2 cup nut meats
  • Glaze
  • 1/2 cup frozen orange concentrate
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs, orange concentrate and buttermilk. Add flour, soda and salt. Fold in oranges and nuts. Bake in loaf pan at 325°, about 1 hour. Combine the orange concentrate and powdered sugar. Pour over the bread while still hot.
