Disappearing Banana Bread Recipe

Moist banana bread that is sure to taste just like grandma made. You don't even need butter on this bread. This is a great snack to serve the kids after school. Surprise them with this homemade quick bread.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup bananas, mashed (2 large bananas)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Greese 2 9x5 inch loaf pans.

Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs.

Mix in dry ingredients.

Then add bananas, sour cream and vanilla. Stir in nuts, if desired.

Put into prepared pans and bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

"My mom found this recipe in an old recipe book a long time ago and I grew up eating it. It was my absolute favorite. Fast forward a few years, I wanted to make it myself and luckily was able to find the recipe here! Sometimes we like trading out the nuts for semi-sweet chocolate chips for a bit of a more dessert like banana bread."
