1/2 cup cream
2 tablespoons finely minced onion
1 pinch salt, more if needed
1/2 pound fresh morels
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Clean morels, if necessary, by cutting them in half lengthwise and brushing or rinsing any grit or bugs out. Drain. If morels are large, cut into strips.
In a small saucepan or skillet, simmer onions with salt and cream until soft, about 5 minutes. Add morels and continue to simmer, covered, until the morels are tender, about 10 minutes. Add a few grinds of fresh pepper and taste for seasoning.
