"I just saw the review on this English Toffee recipe. I make this same recipe every year at Christmas time and I love it! I don't know if the butter is suppose to separate when you pour the toffee out on the pan but it always does for me. Even though it separates out the toffee is delicious! I just top it with the chocolate and pecans as the recipe indicates and then let it cool. The butter hardens so I scrape it off the pan and just throw it out. I have a friend that makes this same recipe every year for Christmas also because her family requests it. I wonder if Willy-T tried the toffee or just threw it out."

"I tried this recipe today. Twice!, the butter seperated from the mixture and left me with a flat overcooked mess. Looked nothing like the picture and wasted a lot of expensive ingredients.I tried a recipe by watching a woman make it on youtube and it came out awesome. Truly's Sweet Shop. The recipe worked great."
