Chili Made Simple Recipe

An easy throw together chili that will have everyone asking for seconds. It is especially good for kids because it doesn't have a lot of different ingredients that might make them shy away from it.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can tomato juice - large can
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 cans chili beans - medium or mild
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
  • Shredded chesse, optional

  • Brown hamburger in Dutch oven or soup pan. Add onion flakes, salt, and pepper when browning hamburger; drain off grease.
  • Pour in tomato juice; add the tomato soup and chili beans. Stir to mix evenly.
  • Add the chili powder, sugar, and butter. Stir to mix in.
  • Heat until chili comes to a boil; allow to boil lightly for about 5 minutes and serve.
  • The chili can be left to simmer for a couple of hours if desired. It can also be made up the day before; then reheated and simmered before eating.
  • Serve with a sprinkle of cheese on top (optional).
