East Texas Slang Jang Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 ripe tomatoes (large)
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 sweet onion (medium)
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
Directions
Wash all the vegetables and cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Mix the vinegar, sugar, and salt together. Pour the vinegar mixture over the vegetables. Chill for several hours. This dish is popular in East Texas and is usually eaten with black-eyed peas or your favorite type of cooked beans. Be sure to serve along side baked cornbread!!
