Fried Sandwich Recipe

My Mom made these in the 60's. I am still serving them today!! The bread can be prepared and refrigerated. Then prepare the sandwich, heat in the microwave for a lunch or snack.

Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Light Rye Bread or Sourdough Bread - thinly sliced
  • 1 each any 3 Deli Meats - ham, turkey, salami, roast beef, chicken,
  • Miracle Whip to taste
  • yellow mustard to taste
  • butter
  • Provolone cheese - thinly sliced
  • American cheese or marbled cheese - thinly sliced
Directions
Heat a skillet to med high heat.
Butter one side of each piece of bread.
Fry, butter side down, in skillet until browned.
Remove from heat and cool a few minutes.
Spread Miracle Whip on the inside of one piece of bread and mustard on the inside of the other piece of bread.
Layer on one piece of bread....Provolone cheese, 1 piece of 3 different meats and remaining kind of cheese. Top with remaining piece of bread.
Microwave for 35 to 45 seconds to slightly melt the cheeses. Serve warm! Cut sandwich in half. Serve with deli pickles and chips.
