Ingredients
  • 1 turkey, thawed
  • 1/4 pound margarine
  • salt
  • pepper
  • poultry seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
Directions
PREP
15 mins
Thaw turkey for four to five days in the refrigerator. Take the neck out of the cavity of the turkey. Remove the paper packaging with the liver, gizzard, etc. from the hole where the turkey's neck and head used to be. Wash turkey with cold water. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels. Place turkey on aluminum foil that is large enough to wrap completely around it. Melt half a stick of margarine and brush the turkey with it. Put the other half of the stick inside the cavity of the turkey. Sprinkle lightly with all the seasonings. Wrap tightly with the aluminum foil (use extra if you need it). Place in an extra large deep pan with a rack. Do not put a lid on it. The turkey will baste itself. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes per pound. The last twenty minutes, uncover for a golden crust.

"I made this turkey recipe for Christmas. It was a simple recipe that added a little flavor to the turkey but not so much that you couldn't taste the real flavor of the turkey. The turkey was very moist and we all loved it."
