In large bowl mix butter, sugar, vanilla and salt.
Add flour and mix well.
Press dough into ungreased 15"x10" jelly roll pan.
Bake 45-55 minutes until a deep golden brown.
Remove from oven and arrange chocolate bars on top of hot dough. As soon as chocolate has melted smooth over dough and sprinkle with nuts and press lightly.
Cool and cut into bars.
