Ingredients
MIX LIKE PIE CRUST
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon cold water
1 cup flour
Filling
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond
3 Eggs
Directions
Pat out crust mixture on cookie sheet that has been chilled. Make as thin as possible. (It won't cover entire sheet.) Chill while making filling. Bring butter and water to boil, then add 1 c. flour all at once. Remove from heat and beat well. Add flavoring. Add egg, one at a time, beating after each addition. Spread on crust: bring edges up a little. Bake 15 minutes at 400°. Reduce heat to 350°, bake 15-20 minute longer. Cool. Frost with powdered sugar frosting. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cut in diamond shapes. Serve.
