In heavy saucepan, melt 2 sticks butter. Remove from heat and add sugar, milk, and beaten egg. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes. Add crushed graham cracker crumbs, shredded coconut, and nuts. Cool, then spread over crackers. Cover this layer with another layer of whole graham crackers.
Frost with mixture of 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla and 2 cups powdered sugar creamed together.
