Simply Sausage and Rice Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound Premio Bratwurst Sausage
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 tablespoon butter - melted
Directions
  • Crumble and brown sausage in large skillet. Pour off excess fat.
  • Add chopped vegetables and saute until tender. Cover; set aside.
  • Combine soup mix with boiling water in saucepan.
  • Stir in rice, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add rice to sausage mixture, along with salt.
  • Pour into greased baking dish. Sprinkle with almonds. Drizzle with melted butter.
  • Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
