  • 6 apples, chopped
  • 1/2 cup caramels, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup peanuts, chopped
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (20 ounce can)
  • DRESSING:
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 8 ounces whipped topping

  • Chop apples & soak in lemon juice plus enough water to cover while making dressing.
  • Combine flour, sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice, and eggs. Cook for a few minutes until it thickens.
  • When cool, add the whipped topping.
  • Cut caramels into bite size pieces.
  • Drain apples well; add peanuts, pineapple, caramels, and dressing.
  • Pour into a serving dish.

"I used the caramel bits you can buy now and it worked perfectly. Quite a bit of work to make and it was tasty, but not sure it's any better than that simple snicker salad."
