Ingredients
BARS:
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped pecans
2 ounces baking chocolate, melted
FROSTING:
5 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla

BARS:
Cream the butter and sugar; beat till fluffy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Add the flour and salt; then blend in the nuts.
Divide the dough in half. Add the melted chocolate to half the dough.
Spread the white dough in a 9- x 13-inch cake pan.
Spread the chocolate dough on top of the white dough.
Bake 30 minutes at 350ºF. Cool in the pan.
FROSTING:
In a heavy saucepan, blend the flour and milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until a paste forms. Cool thoroughly.
Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Gradually add this mixture to the flour paste mixture and beat at high speed for about 5 minutes or until creamy.
Frost the bars after they have cooled.
