Chocolate Peanut Blossom Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening or butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • extra sugar (in a bowl)
  • 1 package chocolate kisses or chocolate chips

  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
  • In a large bowl, mix the shortening and the peanut butter.
  • Add the sugar and brown sugar, and mix until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
  • In a different bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, roll in sugar, and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes; then immediately place chocolate pieces on top of each cookie and press down. Cool and serve.
