Ingredients
4 cups apples - peeled and coarsely chopped
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup walnuts - chopped
1/4 cup butter - softened
3 ounces cream cheese - softened
3 tablespoons milk
16 ounces powdered sugar
1/2 cup pecans - chopped

Mix apples and sugar in a bowl.
Set aside for 20 minutes.
Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon together.
In another bowl, beat eggs, vanilla, and oil. Mix until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture and apple mixture; alternating to egg mixture.
Beat well after each addition.
Stir in walnuts.
Pour into a greased 9" X 13 " pan.
Bake at 350° F for 50-60 minutes or until cake tester is removed clean.
For the frosting, cream the butter, cream cheese, milk, and powdered sugar together.
Stir in pecans.
Spread over cooled cake.
