Twinkie Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Prepare cake mix and bake in 9 x 13 pan as directed on package.
  • Turn out of pan and cut in half horizontally with a string while cake still warm.
  • Mix flour and milk together and cook until thick, then allow it to cool.
  • Mix oleo, shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
  • Add this to the cooled mixture and again beat until fluffy.
  • Spread filling on top of half of the cake and then cover with the other half of the cake.
