Oven French Toast Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 package french or Italian bread
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter - 1 stick
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Spray sides of 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Mix well and pour in bottom of pan.
  • Cut bread into 2 inch wide slices.
  • Place bread slices on top of butter/sugar mixture in the pan, placing close together.
  • Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Chill overnight.
  • Bake uncovered at 350° F for 50 minutes.
  • Flip over before serving.
