Ingredients
1 package french or Italian bread
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter - 1 stick
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Spray sides of 9 x 13 inch pan.
Melt butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over low heat.
Mix well and pour in bottom of pan.
Cut bread into 2 inch wide slices.
Place bread slices on top of butter/sugar mixture in the pan, placing close together.
Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Pour over bread.
Chill overnight.
Bake uncovered at 350° F for 50 minutes.
Flip over before serving.
