Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons soda
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
Directions
Beat together shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses. Add remaining and beat until smooth. Chill dough slightly.
Roll into walnut size balls, dip top of ball in white sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes.
