To My Valentine Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking power
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, soft
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup Quaker or Mothers Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
Directions
Sift flour, baking power, and salt into bowl. Add butter, sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla. Beat until well blended, about 2 minutes. Stir in rolled oats. Roll out on lightly floured board or canvas to 1/4" thickness. Cut into heart shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheets in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) about 15 minutes. Decorate with tinted confectioners' sugar frosting. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
