Fu Man Chew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 pounds hamburger
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (26 ounce can)
  • 26 ounces chicken broth
  • 1 can mixed Chinese vegetables with juice, or 2 small cans (large can)
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 package frozen pea pods
  • 1 package hard Chinese noodles
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Directions
In oil, sauté celery and onions. Add hamburger and brown. Add soup, broth, vegetables, water chestnuts, salt, pepper, soy sauce and rice. Stir well and place in large casserole pan, cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours (or until rice is done). Remove and top with frozen pea pods and Chinese noodles. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
