Poached Eggs Recipe

A classic favorite breakfast. Quick to make. Dunk an extra piece of toast in the soft yolk of the egg. Good morning!

Ingredients
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 eggs
  • 8 slices bread

In a large skillet, bring water to boil.

Lower heat and simmer. Add vinegar, and salt.

Crack egg in small bowl and slide it off into the simmering water. Allow to simmer 3 minutes or until white of egg is firm.

Meanwhile, toast the bread.

Place one egg on each slice of toast. Serve with salt and pepper, if desired.

"One of my favorite breakfasts. I prefer the egg beside the toast instead of on top. Then I simply dip the toast in the yolk. That way the toast doesn't get soggy. I don't normally use vinegar either, but did this time and it keeps the whites of the egg from separating so much."
