Dinner Rolls 24 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup scalded milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Eggs
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°. Bring milk to a boil and stir in sugar, butter and salt. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast on top and wait about five minutes and stir. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour a cup full at a time until you have a stiff dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead ten minutes. Put dough back in bowl and pour a tablespoon or so of vegetable oil on top and rub all over the dough. Cover bowl and put on top of a warm stove for an hour or put in fridge for two hours or up to four days to let dough rise. Punch down dough and shape into rolls. Put rolls into a greased roll pan and let rise about 30 to 40 minutes or until double in bulk. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and brush tops with melted butter. Makes two dozen rolls.
