1 cup butter
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
2 cans cherries
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon flour

Preheat oven to 350° F.
Place butter in a 9' x 13" baking dish and place in the oven to melt while the oven preheats. Remove when melted.
In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar and baking powder. Mix in milk until well blended.
Pour batter into the buttered pan. Do not stir.
Place cherries in a medium bowl and toss with 3/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon flour. Distribute cherries evenly over batter. Do not stir.
Bake 50-60 minutes or until golden brown.
