Servings: Makes 3 1/2 cups.
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 28 oz. can Italian plum tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves or 2-3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red papper flakes

  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
