OLD VIRGINIA SPOON BREAD Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup white cornmeal
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon Salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
Directions
Scald cornmeal and water, then add salt, butter and egg. Stir. Add baking powder and milk. Pour into well buttered casserole dish and bake at 375° for 35 to 45 minutes. To serve, spoon out onto plate.
