QUICK AND EASY INDIAN FRY BREAD Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • cold water
  • Cooking Oil
Directions
In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt baking powder and shortening. add enough water to make a medium stiff dough. Roll dough into a ball about 3" in diameter. Pull dough into a 6" circle with your fingers (do not use a rolling pin). In a skillet, heat 1" cooking oil When oil is hot, drop dough into skillet. Brown bread on both sides, remove and drain. Serve warm.
