Servings: makes 1 cup
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup half & half, warm
salt & pepper to taste*

Over medium heat, melt butter in a small sauce pan.
Add flour. Whisk until smooth, approximately 1 minute. Add warm half and half; continue to whisk. Cook an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until thick and bubbling.
Remove from heat. Season to taste.*
*Use white pepper if desired.
