Ingredients
2 cups sugar
8 sticks cinnamon
4 cups water
3 lemons, thinly sliced
5 1/2 cups brandy
1/2 gallon wine (red or white)
Directions
Put sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Boil uncovered for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add lemons. Let stand 10 minutes, covered. Mix together with brandy and wine. Store in refrigerator and pour as needed, warm. (Do not boil.) Serve. Place a lemon slice in each mug. Yields about 16 servings, depending on the size of the mug used.
