Soft & Chewy Microwave Caramels Recipe

A special treat that is perfect to make for Easter or any holiday. Everyone will love the creamy smooth texture and delicious taste of these caramels but you will especially love how easy they are to make.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, plus some to butter baking dish
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup light Karo syrup
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
Container:9 x 13 glass baking dish

  • Butter the sides and bottom of a 9 x 13 glass baking dish.
  • Combine all the ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir until all ingredients are blended together.
  • Cook in the microwave for 6 minutes. Stopping to stir the caramels every 2 minutes.
  • Pour caramel into the prepared baking dish and spread out evenly.
  • Allow the caramels to cool completely before you begin to cut them.
  • Once the caramels are completely cooled, cut them into the desired size and wrap in wax paper. Store in an airtight container. If the caramels are a little soft they can be stored in the refrigerator to firm them up.
Note: Preparation time does not includes the time for wrapping the caramels.

"Yummy caramels and super easy to make. They were a little soft so we had to keep them in the refrigerator so the paper would peel off easier. Maybe I should have cooked for 1 more minute. I will definitely make these for us again."
