APPLE CHEESE CASSEROLE Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 7 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (medium)
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 T. water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Directions
Combine flour, sugar and salt; mix well. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Toss apples with water and lemon juice. Spoon into lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle flour mixture over apples. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 35 minutes. Top with cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes. Yield: 8 servings.
