Bacon Quiche Lorraine Recipe

Bacon and onion flavor up this creamy egg quiche. This is delicious served warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients
  • 1 unbaked pie shell (9 inch )
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped (small)
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 dash nutmeg
Directions
Place pie shell in 300 oven for 10-12 minutes; cool.

Fry diced bacon until crisp. Remove from grease and set aside.

Place onions in bacon grease. Fry until tender.

Remove and mix with bacon. Place onion and bacon into the cooled pie shell.

In a large bowl, mix cheeses, flour, nutmeg and salt. Place in pie shell.

Beat eggs and heavy cream together. Pour over cheese mixture.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until almost set in center.

Let cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting.
