Ingredients
3 pounds spareribs (or country style ribs)
4 cups sauerkraut
2 tart apples, peeled and chopped
1 onion (small)
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut ribs into serving pieces. In large fry pan, brown ribs, drain excess fat. Salt & pepper to taste. In 13x9 inch pan, combine brown sugar, sauerkraut, apples, onion and water. Arrange ribs on top; bake uncovered 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. or until ribs are tender, stirring occasionally. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
