Ingredients
1 tube Almond Paste or Marzipan (8 ounce tube)
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
Directions
Break almond paste into small pieces. Place in food processor with powdered sugar. Process until it looks like sand. Add corn syrup through food tube while motor is running. Process 10 seconds. Remove lid and make a small ball with dough. If it won't make a ball, process a little longer. Knead dough until smooth on a counter that has been lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar. Wrap in plastic wrap and allow to rest for 2 hours at room temperature. Divide dough into several pieces. Color each one a different color with food coloring. Shape fruits, flowers or leaves freehand (start with balls for apples or oranges, cylinders for bananas, etc.) Add texture with a toothpick or pressing onto a grater. You can also roll marzipan to 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Use to decorate cakes and cupcakes. This is edible.
