Coke Roast Recipe

A slow cooked roast beef that makes it's own gravy that is absolutely delicious. Serve it beside creamy mashed potatoes and corn for the perfect Sunday meal.

Ingredients
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 10 ounces Coca Cola
  • 1 beef roast or sirloin roast
  • 3 carrots, peeled, cut into chunks
  • 3 stalks celery, cut into chunks
  • 1 can mushrooms (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine brown gravy mix, water, onion soup mix and mushroom soup together.

Stir in cola.

Place roast in baking pan. Add carrots, celery and mushrooms, if desired.

Pour soup mixture over roast.

Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 1 hour.

Reduce oven temperature to 225 degrees F. Bake for 2-3 hours, turning roast halfway through cooking time.

Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

"The gravy was SO SO good! I thinked it with a roux of 2 Tablespoons butter and 2 Tablespoons flour, and then added tot he gravy in the pan while the roast was resting. Meat was a little dry but still delicious when covered with the gravy. I bet if I used a smaller pan next time, it would be perfect."
