A large, smooth work surface is necessary for kneading bread dough. The work surface can be a wood board, a marble slab, or even a smooth countertop or table. Make sure that the work surface is clean before kneading the dough. If possible, it is best to reserve a work surface specifically for bread making, especially if you make bread on a regular basis.
Before placing the dough on the work surface, lightly dust the surface, as well as your hands, with flour to prevent the dough from sticking. |
