- Cut apples into quarters and remove core. Slice and cut into chunks.

- Go through strawberries and remove any soiled or blemished berries. If the strawberries are dirty, rinse gently under cold water and pat dry.
- Remove hulls from the strawberries.

- Cut strawberries in half and place in a bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and stir. Set bowl of strawberries aside.

- Process the apples in a blender or food processor until there are no chunks of fruit left. Empty into a bowl and set aside.

- Stir the strawberries and sugar, making sure all the sugar has dissolved. Pour strawberries into the blender or processor and blend until smooth.

- Pour the strawberries into a medium size bowl or a measuring cup and add the processed apples. Add the vanilla syrup and stir until well blended.

|
- Prepare crushed ice. The ice can be crushed using a blender or food processor. Ice from a crushed ice dispenser in a refrigerator can also be used if available.

|
|
|
- Fill glasses 1/2 to 3/4 full of crushed ice.
|
|
|
- Fill glasses with the apple and strawberry mixture.
|
- Stir mixture into the crushed ice to mix thoroughly before serving.
|
|
|
- Just place a spoon in each glass and this cool, healthy treat is ready to serve.
