Made from the leaves of a tea plant grown in Darjeeling, India at the base of the Himalayan mountains. Since the 1800's, Darjeeling Tea has been produced in this region where altitude, climate, soil are known for growing a variety of leaves that provides a distinct tea flavor. The fresh flowery taste of the tea is balanced with a slightly astringent overtone, providing a subtle, wine-like flavor. At times, it is referred to as the Champagne of Teas. Darjeeling Tea is a good tea to serve with lighter foods or afternoon snacks. |
