A traditional American dish made in a similar manner as a cold salad that is served as a main entree. Crab Louie has many different versions, but it will generally consist of Dungeness crab meat that is placed on a bed of chopped lettuce, garnished with tomato wedges (slices of avocado may also be included), and topped with a sauce made from mayonnaise, chili sauce, green peppers, onion, seasonings, garnished with hard boiled eggs, parsley, olives, and lemon wedges. Crab Louie may also be referred to as Crab Louis.
