A small but extremely hot chile pepper, which ranges in color from yellow to red and colors in between. Related to the habanero chile, it is one of the hottest chile peppers, many times hotter than the jalapenos but the burning sensation does not last as long. It is frequently used in the Caribbean in spicy mixes and sauces.
