The stalks from the sugar cane plant that have been boiled to make them edible. The light brown skin is peeled back to expose the fibrous, white flesh that is chewy, slightly juicy, and sweet tasting. The sugar cane batons are packaged in cut lengths of about eight inches. The batons are generally eaten as a snack or used as a garnish. They are also called "sugar cane sticks or stalks."
