Egg Roll
A deep-fried Chinese pastry of flour and eggs that contains a variety of ingredients, such as minced vegetables, meat, herbs, and spices that are wrapped inside the pastry and served as an appetizer. Over the years, egg rolls and spring rolls have become the same item in many countries. However, the traditional spring rolls are typically encased in a lighter, more delicate pastry wrap and are smaller than egg rolls, but the size of spring rolls has also changed over the years, becoming larger and more like egg rolls in size.

After the ingredients are prepared, they are folded into a food wrapper made from dough or rice paper and then baked, deep fried, or steamed. They may also be served fresh with a prepared wrapper that is ready to eat after being filled with ingredients. The egg roll wrappers can be prepared from a recipe or can be purchased in Asian markets or supermarkets.
