| Directions | Mix the flour, salt, spices and sugar together. Cut in butter with a pastry blender. Save 1 cup of this for topping. Add the egg, buttermilk and soda. Beat until well blended. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour into greased 9x13" pan. Sprinkle with reserved topping. Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes. Most delicious when served warm. Serves 20. |
