| Directions | Sift dry ingredients. Add shortening and milk and beat well. Add egg whites (unbeaten) and vanilla and beat. Spread in a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting. To make frosting: In a medium microwave safe bowl, place chocolate, cream cheese and milk. Microwave on High (100%) for 1 1/2 minutes, stir. Microwave on high for an additional 30 seconds to a minute, until soft and smooth when stirred. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth. Makes 2 cups. |
